Curriculum Vitae Eeshani Lasya

Born in Portugal in 1980. Co-founder of NĀDA Project (2011), Lisbon’s cutting edge cultural organisation, and Director of its branch NĀDA DANCE Company (2015). Studies in Painting, Architecture, Music and Dance, which started with Ballet and branched out to Yoga, Meditation and the Indian Classical traditions - Bharatanaṭyam and Odissi. Her time spent in Portugal and London saw the birth of a unique amalgamation while working as a performer, choreographer and educator. Her background as a visual artist to boot brings a distinct perspective to her personalised style. As a dancer, has performed in many venues in Portugal and abroad, in Portuguese TV programs, Festivals (SEMF, FMM Sines, Boom Festival, Lisboa Mistura, InShadow, Andanças, Embassy of India). Performs regularly  in Temples and also develops fusion and collaboration work with dancers, musicians and videographers. Teaches dance and corporal expression since 2008, including social programs in schools, with elderly and disabled people, and foster homes, in partnership with Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa. Since 2011 works as a cultural producer, designer, web designer and illustrator for international projects, and as a painter has participated in individual and collective exhibitions since 2009. She has also participated and co-organised conferences related to Performing Arts in Universities (Faculdade de Letras, ESAD, Universidade Católica), creating bridges with Indian universities such as Jain University of Bangalore. Her research in Indian Culture has resulted in content creation for online channels, as well as TV and radio programs. She is currently a regular contributor in cultural activities on behalf of Comunidade Hindu de Portugal.
